Before joining Candler Real Estate full-time, David owned Metro Appraisals, one of Georgia's most respected real estate appraisal firms. He purchased the company in 2013 after joining the firm in 2005 and successfully led the business until 2025, when he sold it to focus exclusively on serving buyers, sellers, investors, and property owners through Candler Real Estate. David is among an elite group of real estate professionals, holding the prestigious MAI, SRA, and AI-GRS designations from the Appraisal Institute. He is also a Certified General Real Estate Appraiser licensed in Georgia, Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Throughout his career, he has completed thousands of commercial and residential property valuations, provided consulting services for complex real estate matters, and served as an expert witness in court proceedings across Georgia.

A graduate of the University of Georgia, David earned a Bachelor of Science in Consumer Economics. He continues to be actively involved in the real estate profession as a member of the Board of Directors for the Atlanta Chapter of the Appraisal Institute.

Originally from Hawkinsville, Georgia, David is also the owner of Meat Head Charcoal. He lives in Gainesville, Georgia, with his wife, Maggie, and their three sons, Henry, Samuel, and John Reese. David and Maggie are graduates of the 2019 Leadership Georgia class, and David is also a graduate of the 2013–2014 Leadership Hall County program.

When he's not helping clients navigate the real estate market, David enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, grilling, and exploring the mountains of North Georgia and North Carolina.
